Where we began
A small group of trader-entrepreneurs came together to give their community a structured, collective voice — a body that could advocate for fair trade, share knowledge, and represent members in dialogue with regulators.
That body became the Senior Citizen Welfare Society of Bangladesh, and over the years it has grown from a handful of founding members into one of Bangladesh's most respected ICT trade associations.
Where we are today
Today Senior Citizen Welfare Society of Bangladesh represents over a thousand member firms, runs a year-round calendar of events and training, publishes industry research, and maintains formal relationships with peer associations and government agencies.

Foundation
Senior Citizen Welfare Society of Bangladesh is founded by a group of pioneering hardware traders to give voice to a growing ICT trade community.
- ●2002
First Constitution Adopted
The Society formally adopts its first Constitution and Bylaws, setting out membership categories and the structure of the Executive Committee.
- ●2007
Recognition by ICT Division
Senior Citizen Welfare Society of Bangladesh is formally recognized by the Government as a representative trade body for ICT traders.
- ●2011
First Annual Trade Summit
The inaugural ICT Trade Summit is held, attended by leading hardware vendors, distributors, and policymakers.

Welfare Fund Established
A dedicated welfare fund is established to support members and their families during emergencies.
- ●2020
Pandemic Response
Senior Citizen Welfare Society of Bangladesh coordinates a sector-wide response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including supply continuity and member welfare.

Constitution Amended
The Constitution is comprehensively amended to modernize governance and member services.
- ●2026
Digital Transformation Initiative
Launch of a society-wide digital transformation programme for member businesses.
